My lady-friend and I had a blast here. We had a late dinner around 9, which consisted of a nice appetizer of soup & some mini burger which were so money!! (money means good) Graduated to dinner, where my lady had the Seared Ahi Tuna, and I went with Kobe beef ribs. Man oh man..the meat fell right off the bone and was just soo good. We paired everything with a nice bottle of wine to get our night going and that's when the good stuff started to happen. We took things to the next level when this place turned into a full on club. DJ crankin' good tunes, people dancing and a 20 foot catwalk splitting the room. It was fun and hilarious just for the people watching! This is my first time on Yelp, but hopefully not my last, and it will definitely not be my last time at Bancroft. Overall: Great food, very good service, excellent vibe and solid DJ.

I understand how clubs - especially new ones - need to create a buzz by having a line outside. I received an evite to the Bancroft Supperclub opening for Friday; RSVP'd by the deadline and even called to confirm. I sported my Cubavera, my Blackberry, and even ran into friends at the entrance. Imagine my disappointment when the door staff said there was a SEPARATE list for those going to the grand opening party, and 'no one knew' when we could start coming in. Apparently they were only letting people in with dinner reservations. Of course, I understand this is just to create buzz and a crowd outside. However, I still think it's ridiculous to have to be made to wait so long and that this information wasn't told to me when I called ton confirm. Who knows, i probably would have made dinner reservations but know this place is on my blacklist. I will also make sure to only spread bad reviews of the place!

When we got there at 9:30 pm, there was no one there, I could hear the crickets chirping from outside. It got busy later on but the vibe was terrible. The food was just lack luster and heavy. Had the chicken lollipops as appetizer, tried the duck confit, scallops, and creme brûlée. Nothing to write home about. Everything is over priced, both food and alcohol. when it came time to pay bill, my friends where scrambling like roaches when you turn the light on. The only good thing about Bancroft was our HOT waiter, undoubtedly he was more yummy than the food. I would not go back there, I don't see this place being open for long. Left broke and unsatisfied. :(

This place was great!!! The staff and service was above and beyond!!! We walked in and they quickly showed us to our table and brought out a shot of warm chicken broth, this broth was so good I really wanted to ask for more. Our waiter was great, I could not decide between two entree's and I asked him which one he would suggest, he actually suggested the less expensive one. I had the crispy skin red snapper with tomato confit, zucchini and sea salted fingerling potatoes, it was delicious. I will definitely be going back.

"If you build it they will come..." Who still has money in their pockets to party like a rock star? Someone on South Beach thinks you might. After the balls-to-the-wall schmoosefest at the Hotel Webster opening last week for the launch of their gold - diamonds - designer clothing shop and Caviar Kaspia Restaurant, I started to feel like the last poor person in the 33139. Then there was Pied de Cochon, then Ahnvee! Today Bancroft Supperclub is open with miles of marble bar top, indoor and outdoor lounge spaces, plasmas, see-and-be-seen lighting and a restaurant downstairs with a 20-foot RUNWAY. I assume you can spontaneously channel your favorite America's Next Top Model moment between appetizers and entrees and just STRUT! Tim Andriola from Timo in Sunny Isles (and Mark's Place before that) has been drafted to create an organic American classic menu for the restaurant. Timo's chef has mighty good stret cred in the culinary world so they got THAT right. But seriously, isn't this the off-season?

Well, we checked out the new Bancroft the other night and wow! I shot out a Twitter and said the waitstaff was embarrassingly good. You know, that kind where they are just so over-the-top it makes you feel kind of funny. They even had a silverware guy! Our waiter was awesome, funny, informative and appropriately attentive. And, I am told, quite cute. It's the kind of service everyone complains about not getting in South Beach. The drinks were kept replenished, the table was kept clean, and anytime we needed anything, someone was there to take care of it. I had the squid ink noodle pasta with shrimp, squid and scallops. One of my companions had the red snapper and the other had Italian sea bass. All of them were excellent, but I would say the snapper won. I'm not sure how to describe the food, inventive world fusion, I guess. The flavors were interesting and very well put together. The prices for the entrees range from $23 to $49 and they had a decent variety, fish, chicken, duck, and steak, as well as a couple vegetarian choices. The portions are reasonable, too. Often, you go to these higher class restaurants and the food is really fru-fru and minimal. Not so here. I could not even finish my entrée. They bill it as a supperclub, so be aware that it starts to get loud around 10pm. But, the atmosphere is nice, a little snooty, but not too much so. If you are looking for a nice restaurant that offers reasonable value for the prices and excellent service, definitely check out Bancroft. I posted up some photos here - uncommontimes.com/photog…

I'm down grading my rating from 2 1/2 stars to 2 ( see note on bottom). So me ,my boyfriend and my good friend and her boyfriend decided to check this place out on Saturday. It's hard for both of us to get our boyfriends to go out so we thought that the lounge restaurant combination would be a good compromise. Let me start by saying that I wanted to change our reservation from 6 people to 4 people but I could not get through to the restaurant at all and not because they weren't open the phone would eventually go to a strange answering machine. Eventually I got a phone call back from the hostess/manager. When we arrived at 9:30 the hostess tried to seat us in a dark corner, but luckily the hostess/manager saved us from that and set us in a nice table. Next, let me say that I am giving this place 2 stars because the service was TERRIBLE and just because the food was good they completely lost my buisness because our server was the WORST! Bottle girls should not be given the responsibilty to be servers too ( at least at this place). We sit down, place our drink orders and I wanted the St. Germain Moet martini. My friend ordered the Bancroft cucumber martini (both have St. Germain in them). About 5 minutes later the server comes back and tells me that they can't make my drink because they have no more St. Germain... fine I get the Lychee martini. Well, we just happen to be sitting next to the bar and I see the waiter pouring St. Germain into my friends drink! Very confusing. So we're on a mission to have a good time that night and spend a decent amount of money. We order tequilla shots. We hear the bartender tell our server that they are ready. She NEVER gets the shots from the bar!! Our bus boy gets them after us waiting for about 10 minutes. Next, we order. My friend and I order from the Miami spice menu: Tuna tartar, flank steak with gnocchi, and creme bruele. My boyfriend goes to town and orders the kobe carpaccio, the lobster and pinapple upside down cake and a mint chocolate chip ice cream sandwich ( he was being a fatty that night ;) My friends boyfriend who is a vegetarian orders beets with buttered vegitables. HIs is the last to come and when it does it is not what he ordered. When I finally tag our waitress down she tries to argue with him that it IS what he order! Unbelievable. When it comes down to the actual food it was delicious. My steak was great and the gnocchi were tender and buttery. My boyfriends lobster was cooked perfectly. My creme bruele top was burned, but the best dessert was the mint chocolate chip ice cream sandwich. It tasted like thin mints. I decided that I had to complain about our aweful server. When the hostess/manager came over he knew my name bacuse it was he would called me back about our reservations. He was a doll and apologized and sent over tequilla shots. As we sarted to get more drunk I think our waitress thought she could redeem herself by sending over more tequilla shots... she didn't. Actually, as I was good and drunk by the end of the night and we got our crazy tab, I tried to bitch her out but was prompltly shooshed by my boyfriend. I had a good time because I was with great people and the food was good, but why we won't be coming back again is because of the god aweful service. I mean I don't get it we spent ALOT of money that night and we still got treated like poo. P.S. My bf found the bill in his pocket today and decided to take a sober look at it and noticed we got charged for the veggie appitizer my friend NEVER received. BAD BAD BAD.... I hope your reading this Bancroft, treat your customers better!

This new spot in the lately boring Miami nightlife is a new gem. I am amazed to see how people can make of an old and cold building, a warm, interesting and high end oriented restaurant and night club, all in one place; that's the meaning (I just found out) of SupperClub. The decoration is nice, warm and chic. I had dinner last Saturday and even if the place wasn't packed at the beginning (around 9:00 PM) the ambiance was interesting and I loved the food I had. I heard that the Executive chef is Tim Andriola (I am a fan of his other restaurant) and I really felt his hands there. The menu is organic and it's a nice combination of well elaborated appetizers with a balanced list of meat, pasta, fish and amazing sides. The maitre'd is a nice professional who just needs better trained and knowledgeable staff, I guess that if they hire "real" servers instead of nice girls with no experience, the service will go from good to excellent. The night club, which happens to be right there, at the restaurant, was full at midnight. The bar and bottle service is good and fast and the music (I don't know who's the DJ) is really good. We enjoyed every single minute there, the girls were just gorgeous and at 5, when we had to go home, we realized that this place is a good candidate to be one of the best night clubs in the east coats. Time will talk...

Have it all at Bancroft SupperClub Parking in Miami Beach is a daunting task, but visiting a place that is part restaurant, part nightclub, part lounge is worth the mission. We arrived at Bancroft SupperClub located in the restored Art Deco Bancroft Hotel building on the corner of 15th street and Collins, conveniently close to the 16 street parking garage, where we parked. Renowned Chef Tim Andriola of Miami Beach restaurant Timo stirs up organic, new-American dishes, but you may need to decide on your own. The attentive waiter was just that attentive but did not appear to be knowledgeable. When we asked for his suggestion, he said "everything is great" luckily for us it was. While we waited for our starters and glass of wine, a violinist walked around the venue playing on par with the DJ's upbeat, unique and pleasant scratching sound successfully blending beats. Did I mention the 20-foot runway? We were fortunate to have a table right by it to enjoy the unexpected fashion show. We were a bit daring with selections. Though we are not fans of breaded seafood, because we feel it hides the flavor we tried the salt and vinegar potato chips crusted diver scallops with cannellini beans and herb bouillon, which was a perfect marriage. We also enjoyed the flavorsome baked calamari in its own ink which was slightly salty and kind of vinegary to taste. For our entrees we tried the Alaska king salmon and red snapper. We certainly taste the difference in the ruby red firm meat of the salmon, which was unpredictably not fishy to taste perfectly balanced with finely chopped asparagus. Sounds like a lot? The portions are pretty fair but left enough room for desert. Warning, the desert menu offers a soufflé, which the waiter failed to mention at the beginning of dinner so if this is your sugar rush of choice, I recommend you try, the 20-minute wait is worth every bite. By around 11:30 pm the restaurant transforms into a club with plenty of room to bust a move on the dance floor or runway. To be frank, I am not your South Beach clubber but the music and paparazzi lights took me back to fun younger years.

This place was horrible! Three of our friends went in before us (2 girls and 1 guy) and they had no problem getting in. We (2 guys and 1 girl) met them up there about 10 minutes later and the extremely rude bouncer said we had to be on a guest list in order to get in. Our friends came outside and we were getting ready to leave until they let us in. When we got there the place was completely dead. I would have thought the place would be packed judging on the way the bouncer did not want to let us in. We found a corner to sit in, and went to the bar to have way overpriced drinks ($12 for well drinks). The drinks were good, but nothing special. We wanted to dance, but no one else was. People were just standing around there. The place was boring and we wound up leaving around 1:30am for the Cleavlander which was much better! The people at Bancroft need to improve their attitude towards their guests, and get people dancing!

Bancroft is a nightmare. I give them two weeks before they're closed. I received an invite to the "grand opening" and a confirmation back from them when I RSVP-ed. When we showed up, the rudest doorman I have ever encountered said that without dinner reservations we would not be getting in. When I asked why were invitations sent out if RSVPs weren't going to be honored, he turned his back on us. There were 20-25 other people in the same situation. No one got in. And I've seen other reviews on the Internet from people who were also duped by the "invitation." So the whole "grand opening" was a hoax. A PR stunt to create a line at the velvet rope for passersby. The ultimate insult. STAY AWAY.
